WE are all
guilty
of it.

GOAT BigProblem

Did you know

How much food do you waste each day, each week, each month? We all do it and it all adds up not in a good way. Organic waste creates methane gas wich is 25x more damagin to the environment than carbon dioxide.

Access to affordable meals is a bigger issue locally than most of us realize. Access to nutritious affordable meals is very much a Social Problem with a potentially easy solution: Food Sharing.

Globally

1/3

of all food produced annually (globally) is wasted which could feed as many as 2 billion people/year.

Food waste amounts to approximately $680 billion/year in Industrialized countries

If food waste was a country, it will be the 3rd producer of greenhouse emissions in the world behind China and the US

In canada

47%

of the food waste in Canada occurs in households

Food waste represents $31 billion a year Canada (2% of Canada’s GDP)

Each year, Canadians waste 183 Kg of food per person; adding up to SIX Million Tons of food waste, that is equivalent to the weight of ONE MILLION full-grown elephants

In 2015, the United Nations set sustainable development goals that included a commitment to reducing food waste by 50% by 2030. Canada risks lagging behind
